Library and its Importance
It is not possible for an individual to
have a wide collection of all sorts
of books at home. One can get access to
diverse genres of books and other resources in library. It is a storehouse of
books. It also provides various other sources of information for reading in its
premises as well as borrowing for home. Libraries attract people to read and
develop habit of reading and learning. It increases their thirst for reading
and expands knowledge. So, this is the best medium for public instruction. There are different types of libraries like
school and college library, general library, text book library, national
library etc. The collection of library can include books, manuscripts,
magazines, periodicals, videos, audios and various other formats. Library is an
important part of every educational institute such as schools, colleges and
universities. Such a library is open for students of the particular institute
it forms a part of. It contains a wide range of resources vital for the
students. It shuns the need to buy
expensive books and resources. If there were no libraries many students, who
love to read, would be deprived of reading mostly due to financial
difficulties. Libraries attract people to read and develop habit of reading and
learning. It increases their thirst for reading and expands knowledge. Library
is also essential for any kind of research on different subjects. Thus library
plays an active role to the academic as well as cultural progress of a country
and a nation as well.

Sub. : Expressing concern over
the suffering of patients due to the negligence of hospital.
Sir,
Please allow me a little space in the
column of your esteemed daily to draw the attention of the authority concerned
to the suffering of the common people due to the indifference and negligence on
the part of most of the hospitals in our country.
One of the basic principles of modern
welfare state is health for all. But the condition of the public hospitals in
our country is bound to make one sceptical about it. The doctors serving here
are so indifferent that the attitude may lead one to the apprehension that they
are rendering honorary service in some charitable organization. The compound in
every hospital is as dirty as anything and medicines are seldom found
available. Bad tempered nurses, non-cooperative staff and open antisocial
activities in the hospital compound have worsened the situation.
Much paper and many words have been spent
without any result. The authority seems to stay in a euphoria as the poor
people do not dare protest. But what will happen if people someday become aware
of their rights ? Thank you.

Sincerely
yours
